Bring your own entertainment

It’s a nice idea to have movies, TV shows, and books downloaded on your devices before you leave for the airport. You never know what movies & entertainment consoles planes would have.

Download some audiobooks and podcast episodes before you go if you have trouble reading on planes.

Pack eye mask and ear plugs

It’s always better to bring your own eye mask & ear plugs and pack these items in your carry-on so that you can access them easily during the flight.

Keep your valuables secure

Ensure to keep your valuables secure by placing them deep inside your carry-on bag or in a pocket that is not easily accessible.

Wear comfortable clothes

Wear your most comfortable clothes in which you can sleep & move around easily. It’s also a good idea to add layers in case you get cold while traveling.

Additionally, you can pack some presentable clothes to change in before you land if you wish.

Bring snacks

Packing healthy snacks will help you feel more energized and less jet-lagged once you arrive at your destination. Packing your own reusable water bottle is also a good idea to avoid paying overpriced airport bottle water.

Stretch and move around

Sitting for long hours at high altitude can restrict blood flow and lead to blood clots in extreme cases. Therefore, it is crucial to move around during a long flight and doing some stretches every couple of hours. You can also consider compression socks if you are concerned about blood clots or have a history of circulation issues.

Stay Hydrated

High altitudes have a tendency to dehydrate the body quickly which can give a headache, make it more difficult to sleep, or worsen jet lag. Always ensure to stay hydrated before, during and after the flight. You can even buy dissolvable electrolyte tablets or drink an electrolyte beverage before your flight.
